Disability Pride Month

I had the privilege of working on a self initiated project for Disability Pride Month as a member of the illuminate ERG at Informa. With the support of the team, I was able to create a visual language that incorporated the experiences of the disabled community and celebrated the symbolism of the Disability Pride flag.

This project allowed me to embrace the opportunity to unify and brand Informa's Disability Pride Month events program, and I am proud of the impact it has had on the company and its global employees.

Red represents Physical Disability

Creating a nest of circles on top of each other created a pattern that evoke the layers of strength and resilience of those with Physical Disabilities. The pattern also creates a section of the wheel on a wheelchair.

Intricate patterns with interlocking shapes were important, symbolizing the complex and unique ways of thinking and problem-solving found within this community.

Hidden challenges and unseen struggles, is represented throughout all the patterns to convey how disability is all around us.

For green, I took inspiration from the patterns of braille. Dynamic, powerful, and a tool which those with limited sight use to understand and learn the world around us.

Blue features fluid, wave-like patterns in motion. Angled sharp shapes reflect the highs and lows experienced in mental health journeys.
